I connected my iPhone to the WiFi network "T99WIFI" and got an IP address of 192.168.2.4.I plugged in the Bestek unit and held down the sole button for 4 seconds until its blue LED started flashing.I installed the Bestek app (called WifiPlugin, despite user manual instructions to the contrary).I'll also pull it apart to do a teardown, see what makes it tick.Īny luck getting yours connected to your WLAN? I'm usually pretty good at deciphering translated Chinese instructions, but I have not been able to get connected to mine: So I got one of those Bestek wifi switches, as expected the little booklet says it's iOS only, so tonight I'll try and get in on the WiFi and see if I can hijack it. Otherwise, use the NC (normal close) side so the RPi needs to activate the relay to turn it off, then release to let it go back to NC to turn back on.Ĭonsider putting this into the DIY forum as well.ĮDIT: That is neat, I might have to look into some of those perhaps for myself. If the RPi reboots, if it's default off (use NO side) then it'd turn off until the RPi came up and actively ran the script or what not to turn them on. I'd consider if you want the default state to be powered on (thus, need to actively set it to off), or if you want the default off (actively set it to on). You could even do this to bounce PoE that use external injectors. It's pretty easy to make one of these yourself, but probably easier (and safer) to buy one like this. Now personally I would be hesitant to mess with AC, but for 12/24v stuff I wouldn't hesitate to do it with something like this. Well, is a relay for 8 devices, up to DC and can plug easily into an RPi.
